The French Quarter (roughly bounded by Canal Street, Esplanade Avenue, Rampart Street, and the Mississippi River) is the most visited neighborhood in Louisiana and the anchor of every New Orleans group itinerary. Bourbon Street, Frenchmen Street, Jackson Square, CafĂ© Du Monde, and the cluster of restaurants on Royal Street and Decatur Street all sit within a fifteen-minute walk of each other. From Kenner, the Quarter is about 14 miles via I-10 East — under 20 minutes off-peak, over 40 on Mardi Gras parade nights or major event weekends.
Parking in the Quarter costs $30–$50 on weekend nights at private surface lots and garages, with no guarantee of availability after 8 p.m. A bus drops the group on Canal Street or Decatur Street and waits nearby, so there's no parking scramble on the return trip at midnight.
